Q: How does Titan work?
Titan utilizes a safe infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin's surface. During the procedure the skin's top surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan handpiece. Titan's light-based platform provides a more uniform distribution of energy for heating the deep dermis than other energy sources, such as RF (radiofrequency).
Q: What areas respond best to the Titan procedure?
Clients have been successfully treated on many areas of the body. The most common areas are the jawline, under the chin, and the abdomen.
Q: Who can be treated?
Since the Titan procedure heats tissue under the skin's surface, patients of any skin type or age can be treated.
Q: How many treatments will I need
Although a single treatment has produced very good results for many patients, it is quite common for patients to have two or three treatments over a few months. You will be advised of the number and frequency of treatments recommended for optimal results.
Q: What happens after the treatment?
Immediately following the treatment, you may notice some redness and mild swelling in the treated area. Both should dissipate within a few hours.
Q: How do treatments feel?
With each Titan pulse, you will feel a brief heating sensation. Some patients are more comfortable taking a mild pain reliever beforehand and others are comfortable with no medication.
Hair removal works best when there is color in the hair. People with light hair may see only moderate improvement and may need a greater number of treatment sessions. Dark hair responds best and white hair does not respond at all.
Q: Is it permanent?
Treatment results may vary among patients. CoolGlide is cleared by the FDA for Permanent Hair Reduction. The FDA defines permanent hair reduction as the long term, stable reduction in the number of hairs re-growing after a treatment regime.
Q: What does it feel like?
The laser treatment may feel like a mild sting for a fraction of a second. It has a built-in cooling tip that not only helps to protect the skin but also helps to minimize the discomfort.
Q: How long do the treatments take?
An upper lip and chin can be done in 5 to 10 minutes. Underarms or bikini lines usually take 15-20 minutes. Legs and backs take longer. Very often, follow-up treatments are shorter (and less expensive) because there is much less hair to treat.
Q: How many treatments are necessary?
This is very important to understand. Hair goes through 3 stages of development. Typically in the anagen stage, the hair will respond more effectively to treatment. At any given time, only one third of human hair is in the anagen stage. For this reason, it is necessary to treat an area at least 3 times with the treatments spaced approximately 6 weeks apart in order to see the best and longest lasting results. Darker hair will respond better, but both dark and light hair may need up to 5 treatments for maximum response and the best long-term results.
Q: Results – What should you expect?
There is often no immediate change. Your skin may get slightly red or even develop a small crust that will peel. The laser may leave small red marks on you skin. The marks clear up in a few days. The hair that has been destroyed will not start to fall out for 2-3 weeks. Many times it will get darker and thicker just before it falls out. Don't worry if you do not see an obvious change immediately after your first treatment.
CoolGlide Laser Treatment
Q: Is it permanent?
Treatment results may vary among patients. The CoolGlide is cleared by the FDA for Permanent Hair Reduction. The FDA defines permanent hair reduction as the long term, stable reduction in the number of hairs re-growing after a treatment regime.
Q: How does the CoolGlide laser treatment compare with other hair removal methods?
Shaving, waxing and depilatory creams provide temporary results. These treatments must be repeated frequently. Electrolysis is tedious, invasive and often painful. It involves inserting a needle into each hair follicle and delivering an electrical charge to destroy them one at a time. Electrolysis often also requires years of treatments at regular intervals. The CoolGlide treatment delivers non-invasive laser light energy to hundreds of hair follicles at one time. In just a few minutes the CoolGlide can effectively treat an area that would take over an hour with electrolysis.
Q: How does a laser work?
Energy from a power source is pumped into the “lasing Medium” – a substance that produces light particles when energized. A laser produces an intense and concentrated beam of light. This beam of light brings energy to the area of treatment through a delivery devise such as a handpiece.
Q: How does the CoolGlide hair removal laser work?
The CoolGlide generates intense, long-pulse Nd:YAG light through a handpiece, which effectively disables unwanted pigmented hair follicles, impairing their growth. The laser's chilled handpiece is placed gently on the skin and glides along as pulses of light a delivered from the laser. When the light penetrates the skin, it selectively damages the root of unwanted hair.
Q: Is laser treatment safe?
Lasers have been in existence for more than thirty-five years and are used by a wide range of medical specialists. Since only light is used to remove hair it is totally non-invasive, therefore it does not cause some of the irritations typically found with other hair removal methods.
Q: What are the CoolGlide laser treatments like?
The CoolGlide handpiece, as the name implies, cools and soothes the skin as it glides along the treatment area. When the pulse light is delivered, some patients experience a mild, stinging or pinching sensation. No local anesthesia or pain medication is usually required. Some patients prefer a topical anesthetic when sensitive areas are treated. Because the CoolGlide incorporates a large spot size and a high rate of energy delivery, treatments are extremely fast and effective.
Q: Are there any side effects?
Short-term side effects include slight reddening of the skin or local swelling. These effects typically are transient.
Q: How long does the treatment take and how many treatments are required?
The length of treatment and number of treatments required depends on the area the patient wishes to have treated, the hair density and their hair’s growth cycle. Many factors influence hair growth cycle such as age, weight, ethnicity, hormones, diet, medication and metabolism.
Q: Can all skin types/colors be treated safely with the CoolGlide system?
The CoolGlide laser has an advantage over other laser hair removal systems because it allows treatment of all skin types, including tanned patients.
Q: What is the cost of a CoolGlide laser hair removal treatment?
Price will vary depending upon area of treatment and specific approach that will be used. A consultation with the doctor is the best and only way to determine how many treatments will be required and cost of treatment.
Treatment of Leg Veins
A specific detoxifying and body contouring treatment that results in dramatic inch loss, cellulite reduction and/or a natural facelift.
Lypossage is based on research done by Charles Wiltsie in 1999 with 100 women. He showed a 6+ average inch loss in the thighs, buttocks and abdomen from this procedure.
